Hail Storm Hit Anoka County On May 27th, 2012

May 27th, 2012 brought storms to the North East suburbs of the Twin Cities. The severe storm took place during the night in which high winds, golf ball sized hail, and a tornado was sighted. The tornado was believe to be spotted near Anoka/St. Francis area around 8:58PM central time.

This same supercell that brought the tornado also brought hail storms and high winds that hit Anoka county. The hail that dropped from the sky reach a size of 1.5″ in diameter on Sunday night.  Hail this size is known to cause damage to trees, homes, and vehicles.
