works too.

Lay out the deck. Establish footing
locations and depths, ensure deck is square to your
property.

Attach the ledger board. Ensure that
aluminum flashing is installed on top to prevent water
intrusion.

Install deck footings. If you mess up
the footings, your deck project just became a disaster.

Install posts for your deck. The posts
support the deck beams.

Install deck beams which will provide a
foundation for the deck joists.

Deck joists are installed on top of the
beams and attached to the ledger board.

Install the deck boards and deck railing
to match your deck style.
